La violencia policial también es asunto de salud pública

Un creciente número de estudios refieren a la violencia policial como un problema de salud pública con importante impacto en el bienestar integral de la población y su relación con las instituciones. Esto incluye daños físicos derivados de actos violentos por parte de la policía a las víctimas, así como el impacto que tiene en la salud mental de familiares, testigos directos y sociedad en general. Considerando que la violencia policial no sólo impacta la salud de las víctimas directas, se vuelve necesario convocar otros actores para prevenir su repetición (Alang, 2018, 2020; DeVylder et al., 2017, 2018, 2019; Jackson et al., 2021)
